I lived in DC for 3 ½ years but still didn’t get to everything on my list. Here is what I regret not getting to see during this time:
-Northeast United States: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and Connecticut
-Cape Cod & Plymouth Rock
-Washington’s Distillery (less than 10 miles from my house)
-A weekend in a B&B near Charlottesville
-Miami and Key West
-Return to Chicago and New Orleans
-Pittsburgh
-Outer Banks
-Explore more of Delaware
My point is less about the actual locations and more to say that you will never see and do everything. But more importantly, you don’t have to move half way around the globe or devote lots of time and money in order to travel and explore. There are plenty of opportunities in your own neighborhood, city or region! Just get out there, regardless if it is for the afternoon, a weekend, or a full week!
