I recently got a wonderful deal on WOW airlines from Baltimore to Iceland. However, like most discount airlines, the catch is staying away from the extras. So I decided to stay under the 5kg (11 lb) free baggage limit. Not only was I able to do it, I actually had items I didn’t use! My packing list for this 4 day trip is below:
Passport, driver’s license, credit card, pen, phone cord, car adapter plug, plug adapter
Kindle
Phone
4 long sleeve shirts
6 pairs of socks (only wore 4) and 4 pairs of underwear
PJs and heavy shirt
Flip flops (I never travel without them)
Extra shoes (I wore them but didn’t have to)
Swimsuit (never used)
Water bottle and snacks for the flight
*Note: I shared toiletries with my mom, but if that had not had been an option, I had room or could have bought them in country for less than the luggage fees.
I wore: Jeans, Long Sleeve Shirt, Sweater and Boots
I carried: Coats (I layered a heavy coat and light coat), scarf, winter hat
*Note: I liked WOW airlines. Not only did they have great prices but the staff was friendly, it didn’t feel like a discount airline, and the seats were roomier than any flight I’ve had in a long time.
